Purpose of Role:

A Part 135 Private Jet Charter Advisor acts as an intermediary, connecting clients with Part 135 operators to arrange private jet charters. Their primary responsibility is to understand client needs, source suitable aircraft, negotiate contracts, and arrange logistical details like ground transportation, catering, and additional actions for the charter client. The advisor will work as an independent contractor, earning commission on successful charter bookings.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Matching Clients with Operators:

Finding the Right Aircraft:

Advisor needs to understand client needs (e.g., aircraft type, seating capacity, destination) and match them with available Part 135 operators who can provide the required service.

Negotiating Contracts:

Advisor negotiates flight terms, including pricing, cancellation policies, and other contractual obligations, ensuring a fair and mutually beneficial agreement.

Client Communication:

Advisor serves as a point of contact for clients, providing updates, answering questions, and managing expectations throughout the full charter process.

  1. Ensuring Compliance and Safety:

Understanding Part 135 Regulations:

Advisor must be familiar with the specific requirements of Part 135, including a working understanding of aircraft maintenance, crew qualifications, and operational procedures.

Verifying Operator Compliance:

Advisor should verify that the chosen operator holds a valid Part 135 certificate and adheres to all applicable safety regulations.

Safety Procedures:

Advisor may also play a role in educating clients about safety procedures and regulations, addressing any concerns and ensuring they are comfortable with the process.

Maintaining Records:

Advisor must maintain records of all charters, contracts, and other relevant information to demonstrate compliance with regulations.

  1. Managing the Charter Process:

Flight Scheduling:

Advisor helps coordinate flight schedules, including pickup and drop-off locations, and any necessary changes or adjustments.

Document Management:

Advisor manages all paperwork related to the charter, including flight plans, manifest, and contracts.

Handling Inquiries:

Advisor addresses client inquiries and concerns regarding the charter, providing timely and accurate information.

Follow-up:

Advisor will follow up with clients after the charter to ensure their satisfaction and gather feedback for future improvements.

  1. Other Responsibilities:

Insurance:

Advisor may play a role in understanding the insurance requirements for Part 135 operations and verifying that adequate coverage is in place. Including ensuring Pacific Coast Jet is added as additionally insured to each off-fleet charter flight.

Marketing and Sales:

Advisor will also be responsible for attracting new clients and promoting their services to potential customers.

Driving Business Growth:

Advisor needs to develop and implement strategies to increase business and build strong relationships with clients and operators.

 

Qualifications

Knowledge of Part 135 Regulations with existing book of business:

Advisor needs to understand the regulations governing Part 135 operators and have an existing book of business that Pacific Coast Jet leads will assist in growing the book over the course of time.

Operator Verification:

Advisors must verify the Part 135 certificate and insurance coverage of any operators they work with.

Compliance Checks:

Advisor should conduct thorough checks to ensure operators and the associated flight crews are operating within the bounds of Part 135 regulations.

Experience:

1. Client Relationship Building:

Deep Understanding of Client Needs:

Advisor must be able to understand individual client needs, from specific aircraft types and amenities to travel schedules and destinations.

Personalized Service:

Delivering a bespoke experience is crucial in the high-touch world of private aviation.

Long-Term Relationships:

Building strong relationships with clients is key to fostering loyalty and repeat business.

2. Market Knowledge and Expertise:

Market Trends and Analysis:

Advisor should be knowledgeable about market trends, including seasonal demand, global events, and emerging markets.

Pricing and Negotiation:

Experienced advisor will navigate pricing structures, identify cost-saving opportunities, and negotiate favorable terms with preferred charter operators.

Regulatory Awareness:

Advisor needs to be aware of relevant regulations, including TSA requirements and Part 295 disclosures.

3. Operational Skills and Communication:

Flight Planning and Coordination:

Advisor must be able to coordinate flight planning, including scheduling, logistics, and aircraft selection.

Communication and Negotiation:

Excellent communication and negotiation skills are essential for building relationships with both clients and preferred charter operators.

Problem-Solving:

Advisor needs to be able to address challenges and ensure smooth operations, even in unexpected situations.

4. Professionalism and Ethics:

Adherence to Industry Standards:

Advisor should be knowledgeable about and adhere to industry best practices, including those outlined by the NBAA – National Business Aviation Association.

Ethical Conduct:

Maintaining ethical standards and avoiding deceptive practices is crucial for building trust and reputation.

Continuous Learning:

The private jet industry is constantly evolving, so advisor needs to stay informed about new technologies, regulations, and trends.
